museum quality antiqued finish is available for an additional
fee for both chairs and settees. It is a professional method of
antiquing, not a ‘beat with a hammer’ method seen on
lesser quality, factory-produced furniture.
Rather, like my chairs, it is
totally done by hand, not a sprayed ‘fake’ look. When
finished, the chair has a very believable 18th
century worn look and feel, yet retains the structural integrity
of a new piece of furniture.
I recommend using two different
colors, commonly seen on an antique piece of 200-year-old
furniture. In this way, the top color can be worn away just
enough to reveal the color underneath in the wear areas.
As examples, please see the
two-seat settee and the
sackback chairs.
